The Bauman Foundation is a private grant-making foundation based in Washington, D.C. As of 2014, it had assets of approximately $95 million.〔 Its stated mission is support of advocacy for systemic progressive social change. Founded in 1987, the Bauman Foundation was funded by the estate of Lionel R. Bauman, a New York City lawyer and businessman. Lionel's daughter, Patricia Bauman, currently serves as the organization's president.
